Another huge footballing midweek so I thought i’d give another prediction a go! We’ve got Champions League, Europa League and Championship action to look at this time.

Football

Tuesday

Fixture Prediction Result
Bayern Vs Man Utd 0-1
Lyon Vs Bordeaux 2-1

Cardiff Vs Leicester 2-1
Plymouth Vs Barnsley 1-1
Watford Vs Crystal Palace 1-1

All of the above games are very hard to call. I think that United will be too good for Bayern. I know they’re much improved but with a couple of crucial injuries and the fact that this Bayern side isn’t the best we’ve seen will mean that United will shade it. I think it’ll be tight and then United will get a goal in the second half. The Lyon – Bordeaux games in my opinion will both go to the home side so away goals are all important.

Wednesday

Fixture Prediction Result
Arsenal Vs Barcelona 1-1
Inter Vs CSKA 2-0

The Three Championship games are so tight Leicester have been a little indifferent of late so I expect Cardiff to just take this game. Plymouth are fighting for their lives (or should be) but confidence is low and I think Barnsley will get a point from the game. What a huge game Watford – Palace is. If Watford win then Palace have a mountain to climb. I think it’ll be feisty and niggly but I have to go with a draw. Palace are my second team so I hope they win!

Thursday

Fixture Prediction Result
Benfica Vs Liverpool 2-1
Fulham Vs Wolfsburg 1-1
HSV Vs Standard Liege 2-0
Valencia Vs Atletico Madrid 2-1

Arsenal – Barcelona, the purists will be wetting themselves over this game. I can’t see Arsenal winning the tie overall, neither can I see them winning this game although they’ll give it a good go. We’ll see how good they really are but I’m going for a draw. I think Inter got the best draw for the quarters and I think they’ll win comfortably in this match.

Friday

Fixture Prediction Result
Scunthorpe v Blackpool 2-1
West Brom v Leicester 2-0

Scunthorpe are battling hard and Blackpool are fighting for a playoff place (imagine Blackpool in the Premiership!) but I think Scunthorpe have enough steel about them to scrape a win. West Brom are flying high and I can’t see Leicester getting a result at the Hawthorns.
