Random Blog Post #4
It’s about time I have a little natter about stuff isn’t it? Another blog entry it is!
You may have noticed that i’ve stopped bleating on about phones etc. That is because I have now got a HTC Desire. It’s been a long time coming. I really like it so far. Not been able to use it that much as all i’ve done thus far is travelled to work and back! Rest assured i’ll be messing with it for a long time. In my opinion the new iPhone will have to be very good in order to stay ahead of HTC if the Desire is anything to go by. I have had one little issue with 3G coverage on Orange. Hopefully this will be sorted in no time!
I’m now currently in my final 3 days of my current job! I start my new one on Monday of next week (26th of April). I’m very excited but a little nervous at the same time. It’s a really good opportunity for me to push on career-wise and i’m going to do my best to progress as fast as possible! It’s very hard to leave my current job though. It’s my first “proper” job out of Uni and it’s like a second home to me. I have made some really good friends here but I don’t think it’s good to be too comfortable too early. One of the main reasons I considered leaving was the fact that I was happily plodding along in my comfort zone. I wasn’t pushing myself any longer. If this is the case at 24 years of age (23 at the time of interviews etc) then something needs to change. Challenges keep the mind active and enthused so i’m very happy with my decision to leave.
So who would have thought a bit of Ash would bring the world to its knees! Iceland have a lot to answer for don’t they?! First they lose a load of our money due to the recession and now they’re doing this! How dare they! I feel a little sorry for Icelanders though. It’s almost like Europe is pointing fingers at them, blaming them for it. To be fair, in Europe we’ve got no flights for now but it could be worse, we could have a MASSIVE VOLCANO erupting on our shores!!! That would scare me a little! So spare a little thought for those guys!
My football season is coming to a crescendo! On a Saturday I play for a team called The Vine. On a Sunday I play for a side called Ely Park Rangers 3G, you may remember from my old site. For the Vine we’re 3 games away from promotion. If we win them we’re up simple as that. They’re all tough but winnable so let’s hope for the best. On a Sunday we’ve finished second and still got one game to play. Presumably we’ll be promoted but the real news is the fact that we’ve got a cup final to play in on Sunday! This is something i’m pretty excited about. Hopefully i’ll be starting but it’s a team effort all season and i’ll be supporting no matter what role I take. This last weekend was a very hard one for me, on and off the pitch! On it I played two games this weekend on rock solid ground in hot conditions! Meanwhile United won and Chelsea lost so that made things harder! Hoping for a very good footballing weekend next weekend!
Finally, i’m still none the wiser with regards to the General Election. I’m definitely going to vote but is it right to vote on an eenie meenie miney moe basis? The Liberal Democrats have had a real surge in the polls since the debate but this was always going to happen. Before that debate most of the people didn’t know who Nick Clegg was. This is the scary thing for me though. We need to vote for policies, not for a person. Who can safely say they know what the Liberal Democrats’ policies are? I don’t know them all but I know enough to say I don’t want them in power. David Cameron’s “If you vote for the Lib Dems you’re voting for Labour” jibe seems to be a little desperate for me. Conservatives have lost a lot of ground in the last few months and this was a silly swipe when he should have been saying “This is what they’re planning to do, but we’re better because we plan to do this…”. The annoying thing about that is the fact that he is kind of right. People are looking for an alternative to Labour and Conservative but there will never be enough for them to get into power so essentially Cameron is saying “Stop leaving the Conservatives for the Lib Dems”. The next debate is at 8pm on Thursday on Sky News. I’ll be watching again to see if I can see something to cling on to in order to know who to vote for.

Don’t get me started on the football.
