Massive weekend in all areas of the league.
Arsenal v City is huge, more for City than Arsenal though. With the Spurs results recently Arsenal know they need to get one more result but City are desperately trying for 4th. I think Van Persie will be back in the starting line up and Adebayor will be returning to the Emirates so there’ll be plenty of talking points. I think Arsenal will shade it. I can’t see Bolton not beating Pompey. They’ve got their minds elsewhere. Hull are all but down in my opinion. They’re feeling the pressure and I think that will continue with a draw. United v Spurs is another huge game. United will be full of confidence after their City win as will Spurs be after their results against Arsenal and Chelsea. I think United will be a bit too strong. The West ham v Wigan game is yet another massive one, this time at the bottom. A win for either of the sides will almost guarantee safety. West Ham’s performance against Liverpool was woeful whilst Wigan beat Arsenal spectacularly on Sunday. I think home advantage will tell. Wolves v Blackburn is a typical end of season mid table tie. I think they’ll amble out a draw.
Sunday has equally important games.
Villa have hit a little bit of form at the end of the season and they’re pushing to get as high as possible in the table. Birmingham have tailed off toward the end of the season but this is a big derby game. I think Villa will shade it due to their home advantage. Burnley, like Hull are all but down in my view. Liverpool have had a torrid week but need to step up if they want to get anywhere near 4th or at worst ensure they don’t slip any lower in the league. I think they will win in a scrappy game. Chelsea face Stoke at a time when United could be top should they beat Spurs. Chelsea have a lot of injuries and suspensions at the minute. These are to players that you need in a time like this. Stoke will relish the trip to the Bridge. Terry being suspended and Drogba possibly being injured means we lose a lot of physical power and this could be costly. I think Stoke could get a surprise draw. Everton are pushing as hard as possible for a European place and better still to catch Liverpool. Fulham have just come through a tiring week. I can’t see a result other than an Everton home win.
Another mixed weekend for the predictions! The Arsenal – City game was a drab affair with it being a 0-0. I thought more would have happened in that game with City especially fighting for 4th place. Hull were doomed to relegation in being beaten at home by Sunderland. West Ham beat Wigan to secure their safety in the Premier League in an entertaining 3-2 game. Bolton and Portsmouth also played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Reebok. United kept up the pressure on Chelsea in beating Spurs.
Burnley’s slim hopes of survival were well and truely dashed by Liverpool and Chelsea very much surprised me in destroying Stoke 7-0. The season is coming to a massive climax this coming weekend!
