Random Blog Post #5
It’s about time for another blog post don’t you?
It’s been a bit of a mental week for me. I have started my new job and it’s been a real eye opener. I’m doing a similar job but for a different company who sit in a different market. I was always keen to move to a proper software house and now that i’m in one I definitely stick to that decision. Where I was I was sat in my comfort zone and had I have stayed I would be in the same position the next year, knowing nothing new and still plodding along. It’s very important to push on and learn as much as possible when young and I think this move will be a very good one for my career.
Initially the atmosphere is very different to what I was used to. In my previous job I worked with a lot of younger people and a lot of people that have been promoted from lower down in the company. Here I’m one of the youngest people in the office and have a number of people to learn from. This also means that there is also much more of a professional feel to the office. There is another reason for this in the fact that the clients are different and therefore are viewed differently from higher up in the company.
In other news there is the third and final political debate tonight. I’ll be watching to see if I can figure out who to vote for. Gordy has made a tit out of himself again. It’s funny really. Nobody can say they really like him. He’s not a likable person and this sort of incident makes things worse for him, if that was at all possible. The stupid thing is that if there was a different leader and a fresh approach from Labour they would have done a lot better in the polls. Now people don’t want him in the hot seat, nor do they want David Cameron and we’re all scared of having a Lib Dem government.
I’ll be very interested to see if either Clegg or Cameron mentions the incident that happened yesterday. Part of me thinks that they can’t wait to stick the knife in but then it could be viewed as kicking a man when he’s down. It’ll be interesting. Brown’s already hurt himself enough and the media will do the rest.
Finally a word on the football. I watched the game last night (Barca and Inter) and didn’t really like the Inter tactics but they did what they had to to get to the final. Plus it’d be rich to criticise after that being the basis of how Chelsea played for a while. I have to say I hate Lucio, I think he’s a diving, antagonistic cheat. He does happen to be a very good centre half though!
This weekend is another huge one for football teams all over the country, professionally, semi-professionally and at amateur level. I’m massively nervous about it. A lof people are assuming that Chelsea will just beat Liverpool but it’s definitely not going to be easy. I can only see us drawing at best to be honest. The race for 4th is still very much alive also so there’s a hell of a lot to look forward to!
