Hello! This is the section where I explain what the devil is going on! I will try to best get across the type of person that I am and explain my decisions behind doing this kind of blog/random interests site!
As i’m sure you will have guessed by now my name is David Mankellow. I am a Software Test Engineer working in Cambridge, living close by in Ely. My main areas of interest are, amongst others, sport (Chelsea fan), music, tech, TV/film and anything funny! At the time of writing this I am a spritely 24 year old. Initially I wrote the original DavidMankellow.com. The idea behind that site was to brush up on some skills. Once I did that I found it too time consuming to keep up with the content so I decided to go down the WordPress route – and here we are!
Sport has always been a great passion of mine, both playing and spectating. There aren’t many sports that I haven’t/won’t watch but my main passion is football. I’ll get it out of the way now, you may notice some bias in the site as I am a Chelsea fan, don’t hold it against me! I also play for a local Saturday team called The Vine as well as playing for a Sunday team called Ely Park Rangers 3G. As I mentioned I enjoy many sports and will endeavor to cover as many as I can (within reason, i’m not about to be talking up equestrian sports!).
I have always loved listening to music. It’s something that I am very passionate about. Essentially I am a big big fan of soulful, vocal and funky house. I’m always searching for new tunes and mixes on the net whilst eagerly anticipating the next release from the big labels. Although I would love to be, i’m not a DJ or anything, just an enthusiast! My housemate is a bedroom DJ (view his site – www.homeofjones.co.uk.) so I am lucky to have great music in the house all of the time! I am a fan of other genres too, these will also be getting a mention. !!STRICTLY NO R&B OR HIPHOP!! – not my cup of tea, sorry!
Technology is a relatively new passion of mine. Entering adulthood I seem to have developed a love for gadgets! Whether I need them or not – I want them. It’s difficult to explain other than the fact that maybe males don’t fully grow up and need more and more complicated toys? I’m not a psychologist. So i’ll be doing my best to keep the world informed on what I think is cool!
Other areas of interest are Film, TV, Comedy and anything of public interest.
